My name is Maury Mountain III, and I am a video game artist, artist, husband, metal head, gamer, skateboarder, snowboarder, exercise-er, explorer, dude from Raleigh, North Carolina originally hailing from Cincinnait, Ohio. I have been studying and practicing digital art for about fifteen years, thirteen making real-time art, and the last ten have been spent at Epic Games in Cary, North Carolina.

I have worked on various titles such as Unreal Championship 2, Unreal Tournament 3, the Gears of War series, Infiltrator, Infinity Blade: Dungeons, small roles on Bulletstorm, Infinity Blade, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Shadow Complex, as well as constant involvement with the Unreal Engine. My career at Epic started in 2003 at Scion Studios, a small start-up company of some incredibly talented and expereienced developers working on Unreal Championship 2. They took a chance with me, and since then I have gone from Junior Artist, to an Artist, Senior Artist, and my current position as Lead Environment Artist.

Prior to Epic, I made custom skins for Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament, and worked on a few mods. I absolutely love video games as an art form, I could not imagine doing anything else.

I graduated from Bowling Green State University in northern Ohio in 2003, with a Bachelors of Fine Arts specializing in Digital Art. I originally went to BGSU for music, I had intended to study the violin with an major in Education and Perforamnce. After my first year in the program, my priorities changed and swapped majors to Art. Music is still a huge part of my life, but more so by listening as opposed to playing.

My wife and I live in Raleigh, North Carolina with our awesomely fat cat Sam. We enjoy playing dirty words in Words with Friends, drawing lewd pictures in Draw Something, making fun of people on reality TV cooking shows, listening to the sound of the outdoors, getting sucked into various televsion dramas or whatever, travelling, eating, and sparkly objects. Especially sparkly objects.

I welcome contact and chatting with people, so if you want, don't hesitate to send me an email! I would love to hear from you.

These are a few of my "Top Shelf" games that I absolutely love and still play on a regular basis. I will try every game I can, but there are a few games/franchises that have stuck with me and will stay with me for forever. In no particular order:
